As a Rehabilitation Innovation Center, UAB Spain Rehabilitation Center (Spain Rehab, or SRC) is designated by The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as a facility leading the nation in innovative care and research.
Most patients begin their recovery in our state-of-the-art inpatient rehabilitation hospital, located in the new UAB Rehabilitation Pavilion. Here, you’ll receive around-the-clock medical care and intensive therapy (three or more hours a day) from a team of specialists. Our team works with you and your family to set goals and track progress.
We provide a personalized rehabilitation plan tailored to your diagnosis, abilities, and goals. From the moment you arrive, we focus on helping you move forward — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Once you’re able to return home, your journey with us continues through outpatient rehabilitation. We support your long-term recovery with physical therapy, speech therapy, psychology services, and specialized services such as aquatic therapy or driver rehabilitation, as needed.
We will continue to ensure your progress on a path toward lifelong wellness.
