Aquatic Therapy

Overview

Aquatic therapy is a form of physical therapy conducted in a warm-water pool. It uses the properties of water — buoyancy, resistance, and hydrostatic pressure — to reduce joint stress, relieve pain, and improve mobility.

Our Approach

Therapy is led by licensed physical therapists trained in aquatic techniques. We tailor each session to the individual’s goals and functional level, often as part of a larger rehab plan. Aquatic therapy is especially helpful for patients with neurological, orthopedic, or chronic pain conditions.

What to Expect

Sessions are conducted in a therapeutic pool and may include walking, resistance exercises, and stretching. Because water provides support for weak muscles, aquatic therapy often allows more movement earlier in the recovery process than land-based therapy.
